The Amrita School of Ayurveda, which is a component of Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, has introduced two digital platforms catering to the Ayurveda community. The e-MAP constitutes an electronic module application designed for Panchakarma, while AyurCel has been specifically developed for clinical e-learning purposes. It is worth noting that these initiatives have received financial support from the Rashtriya Ayurveda Vidyapeeth, under the supervision of the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India.

We are excited to launch the e-MAP and AyurCeL portals for the Ayurvedic community. These will help students, practitioners, and researchers access the latest information related to Panchakarma and Ayurvedic clinical practice” said Swami Sankaramritananda Puri, Dean, Amrita School of Ayurveda. He added,“Our goal is to facilitate learning and innovation in Ayurveda through digital tools and platforms. These two portals are part of Amrita School of Ayurveda’s commitment to promoting excellence in Ayurvedic education and research. They are accessible to anyone interested in Ayurveda and are designed to be user-friendly and easy to navigate”

The inauguration of the portals transpired at an eminent gathering at Amrita University, graced by esteemed attendees such as Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary, Vaidya Jayant Deopujari, Chairman, NCISM, and Dr. Kousthubha Upadhyaya, Advisor from the Ministry of AYUSH; Dr. Tanuja Nesari, Director, All India Institute of Ayurveda; Dr. Venkat Rangan, Vice Chancellor, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham; along with Dr. Maneesha Ramesh, Provost of Strategic Initiatives, Research, and Innovation, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham.

In his opening speech, Shri Kotecha stated,“Ayurveda has a wide range of research possibilities, and we should utilise them to the full. I welcome the launch of these two authentic digital reference initiatives related to studies in Ayurveda. The Rashtriya Ayurveda Vidyapeeth of Ministry of AYUSH collaborates with Amrita School of Ayurveda in various fields related to Ayurveda treatment and research.”

The e-MAP project, an interactive portal, offers extensive information pertaining to Panchakarma and can be accessed by the general public at emap.ay.amrita.edu. This comprehensive resource includes a learning module with educational lesson plans, sloka recitations, illustrative animations, and self-assessment tools for both undergraduate and postgraduate Panchakarma syllabi. Additionally, it features standardized videos showcasing clinically practiced Panchakarma procedures, along with a directory for obtaining details on faculties, postgraduates, publications, dissertations, and colleges providing Panchakarma postgraduate, PhD, and equipment supplies. The esteemed Associate Professor of Panchakarma at the School of Ayurveda, Dr. Parameswaran Namboothiri, spearheads this project.

Designed as a clinical education tool, the AyurCel project aims to digitally capture the clinical expertise of accomplished Ayurveda practitioners, thereby promoting ongoing clinical learning. This resource encompasses case studies, modules for post-publication analysis of published case reports, and a preprint server to expedite the initial publication of case reports. Physicians are encouraged to utilize the platform for sharing their treatment experiences. The project is led by a team under the guidance of Dr. P Rammanohar, Research Director at the Amrita Centre for Advanced Research in Ayurveda (?C?RA), School of Ayurveda, Amritapuri.
